Pilot Deviation Investigation
“N345AB, possible pilot deviation. I have a phone number when ready to copy.”
A pilot deviation is defined as the actions of a pilot that result in the violation of a Federal Aviation Regulation.
Pilot deviations can occur in several different ways. Airborne deviations can result when a pilot strays from an assigned heading or altitude, instrument procedure, or if they penetrate controlled or restricted airspace without ATC clearance. Ground deviations include taxiing, taking off, or landing without clearance, deviating from an assigned taxi route, or failing to hold short of an assigned clearance limit.
Fly Certs LLC has experts on staff that can offer you advice on how to handle your investigation. Our employees have investigated and processed 100’s of pilot deviations and can direct you on the best approach to take when dealing with the FAA. Our staff can only offer advice and perspective as to how they think the FAA will handle the investigation. The opinions expressed by our staff are only suggestions and do not constitute a direct answer or ruling by the FAA.
